Five Minute Friday~ Again

The door creaks as I push against it. Just like the children on the other side of it- grumpy upon being woken up from a long nights sleep.

They are comfy and cozy under their blankets and do not want to get up.

"Isn't it Saturday, Mommy?" The question that they so desperately want me to answer with a yes.

And we follow the same routine. Again. Go to the bathroom, get your clothes on, make your beds, come downstairs for breakfast.

Sometimes it is slow- this getting ready for school routine that we repeat every morning. Sometimes there are tears and complaints and a whole lot of grumpy.

I grow weary. It shouldn't be this hard. Yet here I am again with the dirty dishes and the leftover tears.

And so... I reach for my Bible. I open the well worn pages, pull out the green colored pencil, find my breath and my sustenance.

Again.

Linking with Lisa-Jo for Five Minute Friday. Today's prompt was "Again" and once again, I am privileged to join with a community of beautiful women who throw perfection to the wind and write their hearts for 5 minutes without overthinking or editing. Join us?

  7. How do moms do this stuff daily without knowing his strengthening words will provide all that we need? Amazing how hard it is to do that same thing every day. Love the picture. Did you take it especially for this post?

  9. I have those mornings, although usually it is me who doesn't want to get up. I need to be reaching for that Bible as well. Thanks for the reminder that on the hard days, that's where we find strength.
