Last week, I shared a post using Christmas ornaments to tell a story. I told you that I would have some special guest posts on a similar theme. Due to some technical issues (I couldn't find the battery charger for my camera!) and some very busy kids (my special guest posters!), I have not been able to share their posts until today.
I hope you will find them worth waiting for! Without further ado, here are guest posts from my 3 children- Gibson (3), Ethan (7) and Lindsay (9).
The Angel ~ by Gibson Daye
Gibson and I have been working our way through Truth in the Tinsel- an ebook that uses ornament crafts to tell the story of Christmas. When I asked him what ornament he wanted to use, he immediately said the angel! Here is Gibson's story- interview style.
Who made the ornament? Gibson
What is the angel's name? Gabriel
What do you like about the angel? I wuv it!
What did the angel say to Mary? Greetings! The Lord has blessed you and is with you!
The Boat ~ by Ethan Daye
The boat is special to me, because it decorates God's tree. Boats remind me of God's world. I think of God when I see animals. I feel the cool breeze on my skin and I hear the wind. I love you God for the beautiful world that you have given us.
They're Not Just Ornaments ~ By Lindsay Daye
They're stories as well! Each and every ornament has its own story! But we have a lot of ornaments, so I chose an ornament that is special to me.
I am EXTREMELY happy with the prima ballerina. #1- She is beautiful. #2- She's a Barbie and I love Barbies. #3- She does ballet and I do too! But I only like the soldier for a few reasons. He is cute and he fits with the ballerina to make Clara and the Nutcracker- one of my favorite stories.
Ornaments are not just ornaments. They are special and have stories too!
What stories do your ornaments tell?

precious post, Becky. One day soon, you will have another sweet baby to squeeze!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lizzie! It was sweet to see their excitement over writing and then the way they formed their thoughts was wonderful. And I can't wait to kiss some baby cheeks! :)
DeleteAw, wonderful. We have basic ornaments. You know, just the round balls and some snowflakes. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm sure that Lindsay could find a way to tell a wonderful story based on ball ornaments and snowflakes!
DeleteAwww sooo cute, what a great post and you'll love looking back at this:)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jennifer- and that is one of the main reasons that I encouraged them to write! I don't want to forget the different stages, ya know?!!
