When I am uninspired...

Lately my writing feels uninspired.  I have great ideas that are swirling in my head and then I go to write and there is nothing.

It's strange really.  I am on the verge of some incredibly exciting opportunities.  And I can't wait to share them with you.  But I can't quite yet.

And maybe that is the problem.  I have always struggled to keep exciting news to myself.  I want to tell everyone.  But for some reason, God has placed several opportunities in my life that I can't tell anyone about.

It is leaving me uninspired.  Because how can I talk about the amazing salad that I made the other night when there is this HUGE thing looming?  I don't even want to talk to anyone on the phone, because how can I not share openly with the ones I love?

A wise friend reminded me recently that perhaps this is a lesson that our Father wants to teach me.  How to be able to bring glory to Him, when I have to keep some things to myself.  And learning that there ARE things that I don't need to tell everyone.

I have no trouble keeping a confidence.  But when it comes to my own "secrets"?  Well, I want to announce them and tell you!

Instead...

...let me tell you about this amazing salad that I made the other night.

It doesn't have a name.  But I think it should!  So, I will describe it to you and would love if you would share name ideas in the comments.  Because I am banking on the fact that you are more inspired than I currently am!

Salad:

Mixed greens
Garden tomatoes
Hard boiled eggs
Crumbled bacon
Toasted walnuts
Shredded cheddar

Honey Mustard Salad Dressing: (adapted from this recipe)

1/2 cup dijon mustard
3-4 Tbsp. of honey
1/4 cup olive oil
1-2 tsp. lemon juice
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. pepper

Whisk all of the ingredients together until silky and smooth.

I don't know if I just didn't whisk long enough, but it never got silky OR smooth.  But the taste was amazing!

Gibson helped to make the bread that I served with the salad.  His letter for the week last week was "A", so as part of his schooling, we made Amish White Bread.  We had a lot of fun making it and this bread is soooo good!

Please share your inspired ideas with me!  I need some inspiration.  I will also be stalking Pinterest, I think!  And I can't wait to tell you all that is going on with me.  Until then, come up with a name for my salad!
